Øhavsmuseet – Mærk dig selv
Interactive Museum Exhibition – Faaborg, Denmark
Role: Sound Editor & Installation Support
With: Peter Albrechtsen (Sound Designer)
“Mærk Dig Selv” (Feel Yourself) is an award-winning interactive exhibition at Øhavsmuseet in Faaborg, where visitors are invited to reconnect with nature through sound, light, and sensory experiences. The exhibition guides guests through five distinct eras, revealing how humans have always been shaped by — and deeply connected to — the natural world.
Working alongside renowned sound designer Peter Albrechtsen, I contributed as sound editor and assisted with the on-site installation and configuration of the multi-speaker sound system throughout the museum. My focus was on shaping and fine-tuning the immersive sound environments that help define the visitor experience — from subtle ambient layers and environmental textures to spatial transitions that respond dynamically to the visitor’s movement through the exhibition.
The result is a fully multisensory journey where sound, light, and narrative blend seamlessly to evoke a sense of belonging to something larger — an experience where you don’t just see history, but feel it.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
Mærk Dig Selv received international acclaim, winning a Global Design Award from SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design) in Portland, USA. The exhibition was praised for its “authentic and multisensory storytelling,” standing alongside winners such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Museum of the City of New York.
