Oxen – Season 1
Based on Jens Henrik Jensen’s bestselling novels, Oxen is a gripping six-part Danish thriller created by Emmy-winning duo Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe. The series follows Niels Oxen, Denmark’s most decorated war hero, who finds himself caught in a web of power struggles, conspiracies, and betrayals.
After a disastrous mission in Mali, Oxen loses his best friend due to the negligence of his commanding officer, Major Hannibal Frederiksen. Seeking justice, he pushes for an investigation, only to be falsely accused of drug possession and dishonorably discharged. Isolated and disillusioned, he retreats to Rold Forest, cutting ties with his family and past life.
Meanwhile, Frigg Mossman, the head of the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET), is secretly investigating a shadowy power network. When a series of brutal murders—including the hanging of dogs—shakes the region, Oxen is wrongfully accused again, this time for murder. Reluctant to trust anyone, he resists Mossman’s offer to work with PET—until tragedy strikes again, awakening his primal instincts for vengeance. Partnering with PET agent Margrethe Franck, Oxen is drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into Denmark’s political elite.
The series stars Jacob Lohmann as Niels Oxen, Ellen Hillingsø as Frigg Mossman, Josephine Park as Margrethe Franck, and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen as Kajsa Corfitzen. Directed by Jannik Johansen (Borgen, Ragnarok, Rita), Oxen was filmed across Denmark and produced by SF Studios for TV 2 in collaboration with ZDF and SquareOne Productions.
My Role – Dialogue Editor
As the Dialogue Editor on Season 1, my work was focused on ensuring crystal-clear dialogue, seamless audio integration, and a natural flow of performances. In a series rich with tension, intrigue, and emotional depth, my role was to enhance every spoken word—ensuring that the storytelling remained immersive and impactful.
